Is the Mountain Out? Mount Rainier Watch | Brand Spotlight | Seattle, WA
Let’s start with a Washington Lingo Lesson:
If you live in Washington you know that the phrase “the mountain is out” means the weather is nice.
If you’re not from Washington and you’re stopping by my blog just because…FIRST, WELCOME but now you know. when Washingtonians say “the mountain is out” it literally means, it’s a nice clear day. We don’t go by the weather report because ya know…its never really correct here. Its usually determined by the mountain.
Oh..and by “the mountain” it USUALLY means Mount Rainier. For me, if I’m back home (in Bellingham, WA) its Mount baker, but regardless if a mountain is out, it means Rainier for sure. Regardless the lingo stands…
Now for the spotlight:
Again, thanks to the Sidehustlers podcast by Carla Marie (Link HERE), I met David, David runs Rainier Watch. Now, what is Rainier Watch you ask? It is a social group, a fun Instagram, a merch brand for people who love knowing “the mountain is out” .
Rainier watch does not sell watches, but watches when the mountain is out! David posts, shares, and catches everyone’s moments when the mountain is out because not everyone has a good view, and when we do, it has to be known!
Additionally, Rainier Watch sells amazing Rainier and mountaineering themed gear for every day PNW lover. He has everything from vintage style hats, to Stickers and Tshirts.
I would also like to spotlight the fact that David created his own Diversity and LGBTQ+ sticker that he donated the funds from to support the causes of Black Lives matter and LGBT+ Lives. He is not only providing a mountain community but also reminding people that the mountains are for everyone.
When David and I connected about working together I didn’t realize I would be a part of something bigger and better than it is.
Since working with David, I have had the experience of learning how to photograph hats, shirts, and so much more. it has been fun and I cannot wait to continue seeing what creative things David, and I come up with on this mountain journey called Rainier Watch.
